Directions for Aphasia Speech Therapy

  • by
Isn’t it about TIME people learned how to HELP PEOPLE TALK WITH EASY DIRECTIONS FOR APHASIA SPEECH THERAPY?

Hi

SETS OF DIRECTIONS FOR APHASIA SPEECH THERAPY ARE MISSING!

Most of us are familiar with sets of directions which come with most products we purchase.  Subsequently, children learn to put together model airplanes or cars with directions.  We receive games to play that come with directions and when we follow them, which enable countless hours being able to play these games.  Finally, the problem with aphasia is that therapists and caregivers are often never given clear and easy directions for aphasia speech therapy.  In these situations progress in talking improvement is often minimal.

WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN THERE IS NO SET OF DIRECTIONS  SPEECH THERAPY?

One of the things missing with aphasia therapy is the actual set of directions.   Sadly, do you ever get a product and the instructions are not in the box?

HOW CAN YOU EXPECT SUCCESS WITHOUT A SET OF DIRECTIONS FOR APHASIA SPEECH THERAPY?

I’m sure it may happen to you. Sadly, it’s frustrating to receive a model, piece of furniture or an appliance without directions.  Many unfortunate circumstances happen when there are no directions.  (Just think of what could happen if you are in a life or death situation and you don’t know CPR?)  All of us need to know the set of directions of what to do in the event of drowning, heart attack, stroke, shock, injury, etc..   Realize that it’s no different for what to do to help people with aphasia talk.  The trouble is we are not given the tools in order to deal with these very human experiences.)

MANY THERAPISTS, CAREGIVERS, AND FAMILY MEMBERS ARE NEVER GIVEN SIMPLE SPEECH THERAPY DIRECTIONS FOR APHASIA.

An observation made from over 45 years of doing speech therapy with aphasia; there are very few opportunities to receive actual directions for aphasia speech therapy. Sure there are worksheets, and complicated programs that require one to collect data on standardized forms using programs that the scientific – educational communities love, but therapists intensely dislike.  Why?  For example, they are impractical, impersonal, and often do little to help form a friendship or relationship between therapist and client.

YOU CAN OBTAIN WRITTEN, AUDIO, VIDEO  AND PERSONAL ONE ON ONE DIRECTIONS FOR APHASIA SPEECH THERAPY TO HELP PEOPLE WITH APHASIA TALK BETTER OR AGAIN.

The Teaching of Talking Method is a set of instructions and techniques anyone can learn.  The method helps therapists and caregivers learn how to help those with aphasia talk!  Similar to how to put a piece of furniture together, or how to get from point A to point B on a road map or GPS.

YOU NEED DIRECTIONS FOR APHASIA SPEECH THERAPY.  THE PHRASE “KEEP TRYING,” OR “IT’LL GET BETTER” JUST DON’T WORK TO IMPROVE TALKING.

In conclusion, instead of saying “keep trying” or “it’ll get better,” look for a method that is tried and true  Fortunately you can find a method like the one the author uses to help people with aphasia talk better or again.
