New Digital Book: Teaching of Talking Apraxia: Learn to Speak Better at Home

Finally a solution to those suffering with APHASIA who are not making progress in speech therapy due to APRAXIA.

Aphasia is the loss in the ability to express oneself with words, phrases and sentences. The problem occurs when you have aphasia and apraxia, or just an apraxia.  APRAXIA occurs when one can not formulate sounds of speech sounds accurately..

Aphasia is the loss in the ability to comprehend or express oneself.   They have difficulty finding the words to use for talking.

Apraxia can occur in addition to aphasia or by itself.  The tongue and other structures don’t move accurately.  The program in the brain that is responsible for converting words into the correct lip, tongue and teeth sound combinations is affected.  Often those with apraxia have to learn how to make the individual speech sounds accurately so that words can be uttered clearly.

One with aphasia and apraxia often cannot benefit from speech therapy unless the apraxia is addressed first.  That is why therapy often fails for aphasia; because the person with apraxia has to learn how to say the sounds of speech consistently and accurately.

Our new digital book:  The Teaching of Talking:  Learn to help Adults and Children with Apraxia TALK BETTER AT HOME is now available.  In the near future a video online training course will be available for those with apraxia.

These methods are based on almost 47 years of one on one speech therapy with those who have severe speaking difficulties.  We practice and instruct these methods with care partners, family members, students and therapists in some of the best rehabilitation hospitals in the country and address countless clubs, and organizations of therapists and people with aphasia.
